Improving Patient Outcome with Simple Yoga Techniques
In this course, practitioners will learn the three B's of yoga which can easily apply to any physical therapy session. The three B's are BE, BREATHE and BEND. Helping your patient BE present with their sensations teaches body and emotional awareness that can aid in the healing protocol. When your patient learns to BREATHE with simple yoga breathing techniques, pain and frustration can be diminished, all while increasing lung capacity, oxygenation to the blood and a stronger parasympathetic nervous system. Finally when a patient breathes with the body as it BENDS into backbends, forward bends, and twists, the nervous system is calmed, making movement easier and less stressful. Often clinicians that share yoga with their patients report that they themselves feel more relaxed as well.

We will also cover basic technique and progression of these exercises so the patients regain confidence with power and explosive movement.
